Apple Pay: My experience after a month
It's been almost a month since that Apple Pay in Germany had its starting shot. But how is the service doing after a month in the wild?
December 11, 2018 should have been one of the most historic days for most Apple Pay advocates. Because on that day Apple Pay was launched in Germany. And even if only a few banks take part at the beginning of the payment method, there are some big players among them N26 and Deutsche Bank, who ventured into the new territory.

What about the proliferation of Apple Pay?
You can usually pay with Apple Pay in any shop or store that has an NFC terminal at the checkout. And that is already very often or the case today. However, it happened to me at Fressnapf and some other smaller shops that the payment with the Apple service simply did not work. Even with the Asians around the corner, I didn't get very far with Apple Pay. And that although there would have been a payment device that supports NFC everywhere. In these annoying situations, only cash or the giro card helped. I would also recommend everyone to have one of both on hand just in case.
In theory, you can also use Apple Pay to pay in some online shops. However, I haven't had any experience with it yet.
Ignorant staff at checkouts
Even if Apple has landed official Apple Pay partners, which include Zara and Vapiano, at a cash desk you can sometimes feel at a loss if you just say that you want to pay with your smartphone or Apple Pay. It is therefore advisable to simply say that you want to pay by card and then simply hang up your Apple Watch or iPhone.
Conclusion
Wherever a Visa or MasterCard is accepted, I was almost always able to pay my bills with Apple's payment system, despite the cashier's repeated surprise. I've never had one in stores that officially support Apple Pay anyway Proproblem Even with shops that Apple does not list as a partner, payment worked smoothly and smoothly in most cases.
Anyone who can deal with the stunned look of the young lady at the checkout can check the availability in some of the larger companies proenjoy without blemish.
a few more technical details would be interesting, but otherwise a pretty good amount. Wiso come so few contributions from you?
Hi Sebastian,
The technical data you want can be found in other articles from us - one is even linked above. Why does Kevin write so little, should he tell you?

Good evening Sebastian, the post was for information for people who have not yet had the opportunity to test Apple Pay. I've been using it since day one and have used it a lot. Technically, I didn't want to go into the matter, but rather for you as information about what to expect in everyday life with the payment method. A kind of advance warning or notice. If you have any comments about improvement, I would be happy if you give me tips or suggestions.
