We reported on the new at the beginning of October last year Reno4 series by Oppo. We tested that shortly afterwards regular model and now it's time to take a closer look at the Reno4 Z 5G in this article.

This is the cheapest smartphone in the Reno4 series. For currently only 300 euros, the customer gets, among other things, 5G, a fluid frame rate of 120 Hertz and a 48 megapixel quad camera. I'll just unpack it now and report on my first impressions after a few days of use.

Oppo Reno4 Z 5G unboxing

The Reno4 Z 5G comes in a white, rather unspectacular packaging. The manufacturer's logo is shown on the front as well as on the sides. Once you have removed the lid, you will first see a small box containing the usual paper stuff, a transparent silicone cover and a SIM needle for the dual SIM slot. Directly below we find the smartphone, which is still in a film for protection. An 18 watt power supply, the corresponding USB-C cable and even headphones are also on board. It is extremely praiseworthy that a protective film is attached to the display ex works.

Oppo Reno4 Z 5G in the first impression

I really liked the first few days with the Reno4 Z 5G so far, which is primarily due to the design. The bezels of the display are pleasantly thin, the dark color of the back looks quite chic and the camera design also looks much better in reality than in pictures. The software used is the in-house ColorOS user interface in version 7.1, based on Android 10. I personally like the software a lot, there are many useful additional functions on board and it doesn't slow down everyday performance. There is only one under the hood Proprocessor from MediaTek, but thanks to the 8 GB of RAM and the smooth refresh rate of 120 Hertz, the performance makes a very good first impression. The display can also convince me after a few days of use.

What I don't really like so far are the materials used, because the Reno4 Z 5G also has a plastic back. The smartphone actually feels a bit more valuable than a Little X3 NFC on, but for an MSRP of 369 euros I would have expected a little more. In the meantime, however, the price has dropped significantly, which is why I don't want to complain too much about it anymore. I also find the vibration motor rather bad than right.

At the moment I can't say anything about the camera or the battery life, I'll have to take a closer look at that in the next few days. I am now looking forward to the next few days with the Oppo Reno4 Z 5G and my detailed review will follow here very soon TechnikNews.
