Huawei today has the successor to the pretty popular Huawei Watch 2 presented. For the first time, you are completely isolated from Google's Wear OS with your own operating system, but should offer two weeks of battery life.

As we reported last week, Huawei will be next to the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20X and Mate 20 RS also introduce a smartwatch. This should offer a decisive added value compared to the competition: The battery life of just under two weeks. The Huawei Watch GT should last two weeks in normal mode and ultra-power-saving mode (watch mode) for almost 30 days. In general, the watch is aimed more at athletes than normal users.

Huawei Watch GT: No Wear OS, no apps?

A pulse sensor is installed on the back, which, if desired, can permanently track the pulse during the day and during sleep. On the front there is a 1,39 inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 454 x 454 pixels in a stainless steel housing and a ceramic frame. The Huawei Watch GT also has GPS on board and supports the GLONASS + Beidou + Galileo satellites for even more precise tracking. The watch is also suitable for swimming: According to Huawei, you can dive up to 50 meters deep with it.

The watch measures 46,5 mm x 46,5 mm x 10,6 mm and weighs around 46 grams. The main memory is 16 MB, plus there is 128 MB of internal memory. Two sit inside Proprocessors, with the latter only being intended for more demanding tasks. This method is designed to increase battery life. Bluetooth 4.2 is also on board, there is no WLAN.

The Huawei Watch GT also displays notifications on the wrist, and phone calls can also be made. (Image: Huawei)

The Huawei Watch GT with a silicone strap and a black stainless steel case costs 199 euros. On the other hand, the version with a leather bracelet costs 229 euros. At the same time, they want to start delivery this month. On the Huawei homepage there is more information.
