A long time ago, Sonos had versproplans to integrate the Google Assistant into its smart speakers Sonos One and Beam in addition to Alexa. Now it should start shortly.

Who TheVerge reports, the Google Assistant is to be added to the Sonos One and the Sonos Beam (our test report) to get integrated. It had been announced for a long time that a second assistant next to Alexa would follow. The Google Assistant was also used for the market launch - but it has not yet been available. Now it should start in the USA.

Google Assistant for Sonos One and Beam not yet for everyone

If the Google Assistant is available for the respective devices, the user should be able to choose from both. However, it could take a few weeks or months before that happens: the update will probably only be slowly distributed to other countries. Other countries than the USA are to follow in the next few months, said Sonos CEO Patrick spence last week with.

It is questionable whether the user can use both assistants at the same time. It is more likely that you will be able to choose a favorite. You will then be able to choose this in the Sonos app in the settings. If you set up the loudspeaker, you should also be asked for the assistant of your choice.

There is also more information about the current status on the Sonos blog.
