The patent dispute between Apple and Samsung is finally over

For those who don't know: there has been a patent dispute between Apple and Samsung for the past seven years. Both companies met several times in front of several courts. This dispute has now come to an end, however. Samsung will now pay Apple $ 539 million. This agreement came about out of court. Origin of the dispute: The design and hardware of the first generation of Samsung smartphones could very easily be confused with the design for the same two things of the first iPhone.

Release of the first public beta for iOS 12

In the night of June 26, the first public beta for iOS 12 was released in parallel with the same for macOS Mojave and tvOS 12. To this beta outprobeer, you have to be a member of the betaProgram and have an iOS 12 supported device. However, it is recommended to create a backup beforehand and not to install the new software on the Daily Driver.

Google Pay is now available in Germany

Google Pay is already available in several countries, now also in Germany. This app enables cashless payment for purchases or the like at ATM terminals via NFC. The amounts are billed via credit card, mobile phone provider or PayPal. The latter is not (yet) available in Germany. It is important that your bank's credit card is supported by Google Pay. Google is currently working with the following banks: Wirecard, Comdirect, N26 and a few more. I have listed other requirements for using Google Pay in my post.

Galaxy Note 9 launch date known

This week, invitations were sent out with the launch date for the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. This also falls on August 09th at 17:00 CET in New York. The focus this year is clearly on the S-Pen, which is evident from the teaser video published by Samsung. We cannot expect a new design, but it is very likely that Samsung has further improved the specs of the device.
