The up-and-coming smartphone manufacturer vivo has not yet dared to enter the expensive flagship segment. With the new Vivo X80 Pro if you want to do it differently and also use flagship hardware at a flagship price. What can the new smartphone do on paper?

Before we in TechnikNews We will soon provide a detailed first impression and a hands-on, let's take a look at the smartphone on paper. In order to be able to play with the best in the future, you can rely on the 5G-capable Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 from Qualcomm. The Vivo X12 runs together with 256 GB of RAM and 80 GB of internal memory Pro to top form.

Fill up within 36 minutes

Despite its 4.700 mAh battery, the smartphone can be charged from 80 to 36 in 0 minutes via 100W FlashCharge technology. Up to 50 watts of wireless battery charging is possible. Incidentally, the FlashCharge charger will be included as standard.

As before, the camera is also being worked on with partner ZEISS. Overall, you build a 6,78-inch (3200 x 1440, WQHD+) smartphone with four camera lenses on the back. The lenses each have a resolution of 50 megapixels (f/1.57), 48 MP (f/2.2), 12 MP (f/1.85) and 8 MP (f/3.4). On the front, the user is greeted by a 32 MP (f/2.45) resolution camera.

A camera smartphone

For the first time, the smartphone offers film-style video modes: the ZEISS Cinematic Video Bokeh function creates an oval bokeh in the film standard aspect ratio of 2,39:1 and thus a widescreen cinematic lens effect. With the ZEISS Superb Night Camera, the night scene effects of the previous model have been further improved, for example the Pure Night View.

In order to further improve the camera quality, the main camera uses a so-called "GNV" sensor to reduce reflections and scattered light. The vivo V1+, the in-house imaging chip, processes all the material.

Stereo speakers, HDR and more

Extras worth mentioning are connectivity like Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/a/ac/ax, 2.4GHz/5GHz MIMO, with Wi-Fi6 support. For the best entertainment there are dual stereo speakers, "Ultra Large Liquid Cooling" for a cool smartphone head during gaming and use, dual SIM function and an AMOLED HDR10+ display. The Vivo X80 is one of them Pro It weighs 219 grams and has dimensions of 164,57 x 75,30 x 9,10 mm.

Furthermore, the refresh rate is up to 120Hz, the display brightness up to 1.500 nits and IP68 certification. What a surprise: the scope of delivery includes the adapter itself, a USB-C cable, a USB-C headset and a case. So many included accessories is a rarity these days.

Prices and availability

The Vivo X80 Pro is available in the color "Cosmic Black" from July 07, 2022 in Germany and Austria. It can then be bought from the usual local dealers and, of course, from online stores. The smartphone is priced at 1.099 euros in Austria and 1.299 euros in Germany.
