WhatsApp came because of lately new Terms of use pretty much in disrepute. Now one wants to assure the users through stories that the private data is still respected.

There has been a lot of excitement in the last few weeks because of the new terms of use for WhatsApp. A message appeared among users all over the world that, under certain circumstances, user data would be exchanged with Facebook servers. The catch is, however, that the Messenger can no longer be used from February 8th if you do not agree to the new regulations - at least it seemed that way at first. As later became known, this regulation does not apply in the EU. WhatsApp presumably wanted to avoid the hassle of various data protection laws that apply to us.

WhatsApp wants to regain trust

Many WhatsApp users are rightly a little insecure. One notices that, among other things, with the rush Signal-Messenger. WhatsApp seems to have noticed that too, they want to regain trust through the targeted posting of stories (called “status” in WhatsApp). The reports appear once only in the USA, in Great Britain and recently also in India. The messenger operators will probably send out the messages even more extensively in the future. In the status reports one asserts that the focus on the preservation of privacy is not new and that one can still not eavesdrop on communications.

The intelligence service was definitely not doing itself a great favor with the new regulations. Let's see if the messenger will get more trust again in the future.
