The Chinese manufacturer yesterday unveiled three new smartphones of the Xiaomi Redmi K40 series, consisting of the K40, a more equipped one Promodel and also a K40 Pro+, officially in China before. The devices are particularly convincing with their screens.

Unfortunately, the Redmi K40 series does not come to us in Europe for the time being, but is initially reserved for the Chinese market. But it may well be that the devices will find their way to Europe in the course of the year. In this article we will tell you all the details about the new smartphones from Xiaomi.

Xiaomi Redmi K40 Series: Technical Specifications

All three devices are equipped with a huge 6,67 inch OLED panel, which has a pleasantly sharp resolution with FHD + and even supports a smooth refresh rate of up to 120 Hertz. The displays are only interrupted by an extremely small punch hole in the middle, similar to the one in the Galaxy s21 ultra. The regular K40 is powered by the Snapdragon 870 from Qualcomm, which is supported by either 8 or 12 GB of RAM. Depending on the version, there is also 128 or 256 GB of internal memory, which unfortunately cannot be expanded via a micro SD card. Both Promodels, the slightly better Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 is used, which has 8 GB of RAM in the Pro and a total of 12 GB of RAM in the Pro+ is supported. While the buyer at the K40 Pro has the choice between 128 and 256 GB of internal memory, there is Pro+ only in a version with 256 GB of internal memory. Unfortunately, this cannot be expanded here either.

A 4.520 mAh battery, which can be charged quickly with up to 33 watts, should ensure good runtimes in all three smartphones. The appropriate power supply unit is included in the scope of delivery. Finally, let's take a closer look at the cameras, as there are a few differences between the models. The normal K40 has a triple camera installed on the back, which is set up as follows: a 48 megapixel main camera, an ultra wide-angle camera with 8 megapixels and a 5 megapixel macro camera. the Provariant basically has the same equipment, with just one small difference: the main sensor has a resolution of 64 megapixels. With the top model of the K40 series, only the main camera differs from the others, because it has a resolution of an impressive 108 megapixels. The front camera on the front can be found in the small punch hole and has a resolution of 20 megapixels on all of them.
