Xiaomi Redmi K40 series: New smartphones with 120Hz OLED displays

Yesterday, the Chinese manufacturer officially presented three new smartphones from the Xiaomi Redmi K40 series in China, consisting of the K40, a better-equipped Pro model and also a K40 Pro+. The devices are particularly impressive with their screens.
Unfortunately, the Redmi K40 series does not come to us in Europe for the time being, but is initially reserved for the Chinese market. But it may well be that the devices will find their way to Europe in the course of the year. In this article we will tell you all the details about the new smartphones from Xiaomi.
Xiaomi Redmi K40 Series: Technical Specifications
All three devices are equipped with a huge 6,67 inch OLED panel, which has a pleasantly sharp resolution with FHD + and even supports a smooth refresh rate of up to 120 Hertz. The displays are only interrupted by an extremely small punch hole in the middle, similar to the one in the Galaxy s21 ultraThe regular K40 is powered by the Snapdragon 870 from Qualcomm, which is supported by either 8 or 12 GB of RAM. Depending on the version, there is also 128 or 256 GB of internal memory, which unfortunately cannot be expanded via a micro SD card. The Pro models use the slightly better Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, which is supported by 8 GB of RAM in the Pro and a full 12 GB of RAM in the Pro+. While the buyer of the K40 Pro has the choice between 128 and 256 GB of internal memory, the Pro+ is only available in a version with 256 GB of internal memory. Unfortunately, this cannot be expanded here either.
A 4.520 mAh battery, which can be quickly charged with up to 33 watts, should ensure good battery life in all three smartphones. The appropriate power supply is included in the scope of delivery. Last but not least, let's take a closer look at the cameras, because there are a few differences between the models. The normal K40 has a triple camera installed on the back, which is arranged as follows: a 48 megapixel main camera, an ultra-wide-angle camera with 8 megapixels and a 5 megapixel macro camera. The Pro version has basically the same features, with just one small difference: the main sensor has a resolution of 64 megapixels. In the top model of the K40 series, only the main camera differs from the others, as this has an impressive resolution of 108 megapixels. The front camera on the front fits into the small punch hole and has a resolution of 20 megapixels on all of them.

All three devices are available in black, white and blue. The smallest version of the Redmi K40 with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB flash memory costs 255 euros, the Pro costs 357 euros and the K40 Pro+ costs 470 euros.
