Apple Watch Series 10 introduced: New material in the familiar package

Apple today unveiled the Apple Watch Series 10, which comes with a number of new features. The new smartwatch features a revised design, more powerful hardware and new functions, but many things still seem very familiar.
The Apple Watch Series 10 is particularly impressive due to its 40% larger display, which is even larger than that of the Ultra 2. Thanks to an optimized design, the screen is 40% brighter at the edge, which ensures better visibility from oblique angles. This not only greatly improves readability, but also the viewing stability from the edge - a feature that is particularly advantageous in bright environments. In addition, the new, dynamic watch face "Flux" is used, which makes full use of the possibilities of the large display.
Other innovations at the Apple event:
- Apple iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max introduced
- Apple Watch Ultra 2 introduced in black: Even more elegant
- Apple AirPods 4 introduced: Approaching the AirPods Pro

Thinner and more elegant: New aluminum design
Apple has not only given the Series 10 a larger display, but also a slimmer casing. At just 9,7 mm, it is 10% thinner than the Series 9 and therefore less bulky. There is also a completely new design in Jet Black, which puts the already elegant aluminum casing in a new light. There is also another material update: Titanium replaces stainless steel and brings lightness and robustness to the premium version of the Apple Watch.
Faster performance and improved battery life
The Series 10 is powered by the new S10 chip, which is equipped for the first time with a 4-core neural engine. This enables on-device processing of Siri requests, which ensures faster response times and more data protection. The battery now charges much faster: the watch reaches 30% charge within 80 minutes, which is a significant improvement compared to previous models.
Sleep apnea detection and new diving features
Apple has also improved its health and fitness functions. One highlight is the new function for detecting sleep apnea, which will be available in 150 countries (including Germany and Austria). Sports enthusiasts proBenefit from the new depth sensor, which was specifically developed for swimming activities such as snorkeling and enables more precise tracking.
With the Apple Watch Series 10, Apple shows once again that it's not just about technological advances, but also about evolving the user experience. The combination of an impressively large display, a slim and elegant design and the expanded functions make it a must-have for technology and health conscious people alike.
Price and availability
The new Apple Watch Series 10 starts at 449 euros in aluminum, 799 euros in titanium look and will be available from September 20th.
