Apple AirPods 4 introduced: Approaching the AirPods Pro

Apple today introduced the fourth generation of its popular AirPods series. The new AirPods 4 promise an improved user experience thanks to a revised design, new technologies and additional functions. And they are closer to the AirPods Pro than expected.

The design of AirPods 4 has been adjusted for a more comfortable fit. Apple scanned millions of ear canals to shape the headphones so that they fit perfectly in the ear and do not become uncomfortable even when worn for long periods. This tailored fit should significantly increase comfort, especially for people who use their AirPods for long periods of time.

Powerful H2 chip

The advanced H4 chip works inside the new AirPods 2. This not only ensures faster and more efficient data processing, but also improves sound quality and enables better integration of the various functions such as noise cancellation and audio processing. Users can look forward to smoother operation and an even more immersive sound experience.

Noise cancellation for undisturbed listening

Another highlight of the AirPods 4 is the integrated noise cancellation. This makes it possible to effectively minimize disturbing ambient noise and thus optimize the listening experience. What is new is that the standard models of the AirPods - not just the Pro version - now also benefit from Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) profit.

However, the model with ANC function will be available at a higher price. With the "Conversation Awareness" function, known from the Pro models, the AirPods automatically adapt to conversations by reducing noise cancellation when the wearer speaks.

Wireless charging with Apple Watch Charger

Apple has also further developed the charging case of the AirPods 4. For the first time, it is now possible to charge the case wirelessly with an Apple Watch charger. This new feature increases flexibility and convenience for users who already own several Apple devices. This makes chargingproprocess is even easier and the case can be charged with the same chargers that are already used for the Apple Watch.

Prices and availability

The new AirPods 4 start at 149 euros (without noise cancelling) and are 199 euros with ANC. Available from September 20th.
