Motorola: These smartphones get Android 9.0 Pie
According to Google, Essential, HTC and Sony Moto-Phones now also get Android 9.0 Pie. However, some devices, some of which are still quite up-to-date, are not supported. An overview.
These Moto smartphones are getting something off the cake
Via an entry in the Motorola blog, the company announced eight devices that will receive Android 9.0 Pie. This includes these smartphones:
- Moto Z3
- Moto Z3 Play
- Moto Z2 Force, Z2 Play
- Moto X4
- Moto G6
- Moto G6 Plus
- Moto G6 Play
And where is my own device?
Some series and still (relatively) current smartphones from the company will not support the update. For example, it is noticeable that the first Moto-Z devices are missing. However, that's even less surprising. After all, these devices were presented a good three years ago. It is sad, however, that not a single device in the Moto G5 family will receive the update.
The devices from this family were introduced a year and a half ago and came onto the market a little over a year ago. Also, no Moto-E smartphone will support the update. Not even a device from the Moto E5 range. These smartphones were presented to the public just a few months ago. The whole thing is very surprising when you consider that Motorola actually stands for long-term update support.
Here is the Android 9.0 Pie update overview for all devices.
