OPPO launched their new Find X5 series today vorgestellt. What exactly is the Find X5 and the Find X5 Pro has shown, we clarify in this article.

Before I forget - of course there are a total of three models of the Find X5 series available in Germany. However, if you were expecting a Find X5 Neo, you might be disappointed or very surprised.

OPPO Find X5 Pro: Marisilicon X Power unleashed

OPPO markets its Find X5 series in Germany under the motto "Every moment. Just perfect.” This is a clear nod to the new NPU chip name Marisilicon. This delivers correspondingly clear and bright night shots. Accordingly, a combination of the Sony IMX766 sensor is used as the camera. SuperVOOC with 80W and AirVOOC with 50W and of course 5G connectivity are also included.

Marisilicon X and Duo 50 megapixel camera are at the start

OPPO is the first Android smartphone manufacturer to record 4K Ultra night videos with the Marisilicon X. This is all thanks to the 6nm (nanometer) architecture of the NPU chip. This offers the most powerful AI computing power currently available on the market. This results in videos and photos that are four times better quality at night, with less grain and better color reproduction. OPPO specifically advertises that each video still image should be as sharp as a still photo.

As already mentioned, the two main cameras are both of the Sony IMX766 type. Both have 50 megapixels and have a 1/1,56 inch sensor size and 2 µm pixel size after pixel binning.

A special feature of the Find X5 Pro is the 5-axis stabilization of the wide-angle camera. This should ensure shake-free videos and pictures in almost all scenarios.

Front camera gets Always On (AON) function

The 32 megapixel camera on the front of the Find X5 Pro also gets support from the Marisilicon X. Greater dynamics and a higher selfie quality should be possible.

Gesture control via hand gestures over the front camera is also possible. This can be used to control media playback with a swipe in front of the camera, for example.

Hasselblad for Mobile has arrived at OPPO

Thanks to the cooperation with Hasselblad, OPPO can now take over various software adjustments for the Find X5 smartphones. Thanks to the Hasselblad color matching, the images should reflect a natural and optimized color impression.

Ceramic back + Infinite Curve Design 2.0

In the Find X5 Pro it continues with the Infinite Curve design, which was already available last year in the Find X3 Pro could see. 168 hours is said to be a manufacturingprocess of the seamless ceramic back cover. Also is the Find X5 Pro IP68 certified, which means protection against splashing water and dust. It will be available in the colors "Ceramic White" and "Glaze Black".

Next generation LTPO 2.0 AMOLED display

Lots of words and jargon. But to keep it short, OPPO built it into the Find X5 Pro the best smartphone display currently available on the market. The narrow curve at the edge of the display, as well as the WQHD+ resolution and the 120Hz of the new 6,7 inch (approx. 17 cm) display make it crystal clear that OPPO is not holding back here. This display can reproduce a billion colors.

The first multi-brightness color calibration algorithm in an OPPO smartphone also makes its debut here. This ensures excellent and consistent colors across the entire display in weak artificial light or strong sunlight.

Sufficient power through the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 SoC

Of course, the current topProprocessor from Qualcomm is not missing. This is used in the Find X5 Pro come into use. This makes it very well equipped for all applications and games. This performance also needs a good battery. This has been particularly optimized by OPPO and its own energy management system has been integrated. The 5.000 mAh battery in twin-cell design comes with 11 Procent more power than the Find X3 Pro was the case.

Even if the battery should run out, OPPO is launching a new generation of SuperVOOC. 80W SuperVOOC is designed to take you from 12 to 0% in 50 minutes. The Find X50 charges via 5W AirVOOC (wireless charging). Pro from 0 to 100% in just 47 minutes.

ColorOS 12.1 based on Android 12 from the factory

Android 12 comes with the ColorOS 12.1 superstructure on the Find X5 Pro and Find X5. What exactly innovations this new version of ColorOS 12 brings, we will find out shortly.

OPPO Find X5 and Find X5 Lite for the "smaller" wallet

The two other Find X5 devices are in the upper middle class and in the high-end range for less than 1000 euros. Here we also come to the debut of the normal version of the Find X5 Pro: In the past two years (Find X2 Pro and FindX3 Pro) there was only the Proversion to buy worldwide. This year, instead of a Find X5 Neo, there is the "normal" Find X5.

This makes some compromises towards Promodel, but still aims to offer a solid, quality package for the price. In addition, it may even represent better value for money for one or the other.

Basically you get the same camera with the Find X5, including the Marisilicon X NPU chip. The display size and resolution are "smaller": 6,5 inches (approx. 17 cm) and "only" FHD+ resolution. The 120Hz refresh rate is also included.

When charging, you basically only make a “loss” in one area. With the wired charging with 80W you are probably just as fast as with the expensive one Pro-Model. With "AirVOOCen", however, you only get 30W charging power.

The Find X5 is available in black and white colors.

Find X5 Lite: Reno7 5G for Germany

Since we have known for a long time that the odd numbers of the Reno series are not coming to Germany, they are being rebuilt and are now being offered here as the Find X5 Lite. In terms of design, you don't see any "big" similarities to the Find X5 or Find X5 Pro.

Nevertheless, you get a good mid-range equipment for the money here. 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 are possible via cable, unfortunately no wireless charging. There is a 90Hz refresh rate with 800Nits brightness, FHD+ resolution and a 256 GB UFS 2.2 memory with 8 GB RAM.

The Find X5 Lite will be available in Starry Black and Startrails Blue colors.
