Almost two months until New Year's Eve. However, this is not a reason to TechnikNews Weekly. This week's news: The review of the TicWatch Pro, the presentation of the OnePlus 6T and the new products from Apple.
Ticwatch Pro in review
The Ticwatch Pro is a special kind of smartwatch with Wear OS. In addition to a normal LCD touchscreen, the watch also has an FSTN display. When this is activated, only the time, date and steps taken are shown. Then the smartwatch only needs to be recharged after 30 days, as this display is very economical. Even though the Ticwatch Pro is not the prettiest smartwatch, my colleague and editor-in-chief David Wurm was quite impressed with the watch. OnePlus 6T presented
Even before the OnePlus 6T was introduced, it was clear that the manufacturer would raise the bar for the competition with this smartphone. And that's exactly what happened. The AMOLED display is 6,41 inches and has a resolution of 1080p. A special feature here: There is a fingerprint sensor in the display that should unlock the device within 0,34 seconds. Another highlight is the improved camera, which should now be able to capture better low-light scenes. OnePlus installed the Snapdragon 845 from Qualcomm with 6 gigabytes of RAM and 128 or 256 gigabytes of internal memory as the processor. New products from Apple
On Tuesday, Apple introduced an updated MacBook Air and a revised Mac mini in addition to new iPads in the Pro series. The MacBook Air now looks very similar to the other MacBooks with its new colors. In addition to a Touch ID fingerprint sensor, Apple installed Intel's eighth generation processors. The Mac mini is now also available in Space Gray. With up to 32 gigabytes of RAM, up to two terabytes of SSD and eighth generation Intel processors, this PC is now much more powerful than its predecessor. The new iPad Pros are now available with an 11-inch and a 12,9-inch display. Both models now have Face ID due to the very small display edges. The A12X Bionic processor with several processing and graphics cores ensures that you can enjoy even the most complex games without stuttering. First impression of the HTC U12 +
The HTC U12 + has been available for sale for some time now, which didn't stop us from testing the smartphone anyway. The first impression of editor-in-chief David Wurm is quite positive. Immediately after the setup, he received the first software update, which, in his opinion, made the operating speed even faster. In general, he likes the barely overloaded software very much. Honor Magic 2 now officially presented
This week, Honor, Huawei's subsidiary brand, presented the Honor Magic 2 at an event in China. The smartphone's display takes up the entire front, there is no notch, which was made possible by a camera slider. Inside, the top processor Kirin 980 works in conjunction with 6 gigabytes of RAM and 128 or 256 gigabytes of storage. The battery is 3500mAh. For the time being, the Honor Magic 2 will only be available in China. If there is enough interest, a market launch in Germany is also being considered.
Android Pie for Honor 10, Honor View 10 and Honor Play
In addition to the new Honor Magic 2, the pie update for the company's smartphones was also discussed at the event in China. Accordingly, the Honor 10, the Honor View 10 and the Honor Play Android 10 Pie with the EMUI 9 should get from November 9.0th. There are still no exact update plans for smartphones like the Honor 8X. Honor 8X review
Good smartphones are getting cheaper and cheaper. Honor also wants to prove this with its X-series devices. The smartphone has an edge-to-edge display that is 6,5 inches in size and has full HD resolution. Inside is the HiSilicon Kirin 710, which performs very well in everyday life. Just a few weeks ago, Huawei introduced the Mate 20 Pro. And this new flagship has already broken records.
