Android 10: These smartphones get the new Android (Update 2: Oppo)
Soon Android 10 should arrive on the first smartphones. We'll clarify here whether yours is one of them.
This article will be continuously updated as more manufacturers make their update promise.
For a long time it was not known what the final name of Android Q would be. Since 2009, Google has been using the names of sweets for the operating system versions, but somehow nothing really fits the letter Q. That's why the upcoming version was simply called Android 10. There is also a new logo with rather minor changes. But which smartphones will get the new operating system?

Android 10: Article Updates
- Update 1 on September 08th, 2019: Huawei announced when its own range will be supplied with Android 10
- Update 2 on April 22, 2020: Oppo has announced its update schedule to Android 10
Android 10: overview
As in previous years, the Pixel smartphones will be the first to receive the update this year:
- Pixel, Pixel XL (beta available)
- Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL (beta available)
- Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL (Beta available)
- Pixel 3a, Pixel 3a XL (Beta available)
I think it's praiseworthy that Google even wants to provide the first Pixel with an update, although this is no longer part of the update promise. If that Google Pixel 4 then appears in autumn, this will also come with Android 10 ex works. The Pixel C, Nexus 5X, and Nexus 6P are no longer getting the latest version of Android.
Samsung
With Android 10, Samsung will roll out the second version of its own user interface, One UI, which it introduced last year. The manufacturer has not yet announced a date for the rollout, and we have not yet received a list of the supported devices. These models will likely get the update:
- Galaxy Fold (if the second launch without Proproblem occurs)
- Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9 Plus
- Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10 Plus, Galaxy S10e
- Galaxy Note 9
- Galaxy Note 10, Galaxy Note 10 Plus
- Galaxy A6 (2018), Galaxy A6 Plus (2018)
- Galaxy A7 (2018)
- Galaxy A8 (2018)
- Galaxy A9 (2018)
Huawei
Huawei is also known for providing a whole range of its own smartphones with the latest Android. And that after the whole shock with the US trade ban. On top of it there is a new version of the EMUI user interface every year, this year it gets version number 10. The Chinese company has already confirmed these smartphones:
- Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro (March 2020)
- Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 RS Porsche Design, Mate 20 X (December 2019)
- P20, P20 Pro (March 2020)
- P30, P30 Pro (November 2019)
- P30 lite (March 2020)
- P Smart 2019, P Smart + 2019, P Smart Z (2020 at the earliest, Q2)
Huawei will provide that in mid-September Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro. It is not yet known whether these will be the first Huawei devices with the new software version, but it is entirely possible.
Honor
Honor was also affected by the trade embargo just mentioned. The Honor 20 Pro got momentarily not even the Android certificationwhat is meanwhile changed. Nevertheless, only three Honor models are currently getting the upcoming Android version:
OnePlus
OnePlus is the company after Google that comes closest to Google's stock Android with its own OxygenOS UI. This was also noticeable in our tests on OnePlus smartphones, as the devices run smoothly thanks to the slim software. Now a new Android version is pending, and these OnePlus smartphones will get them:
- OnePlus 5, OnePlus 5T
- OnePlus 6, OnePlus 6T, OnePlus 6T McLaren (Beta available)
- OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro
Currently, leaks are gradually popping up to one OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro on. These will probably be the company's first smartphones to get Android 10.
Oppo
The newly released smartphones from Oppo are already shipped with Android 10. At Oppo, ColorOS 7 is based on the latest Android version 10. In April, the manufacturer announced which smartphones will soon receive an update:
- June 2020: Oppo Reno 2, Oppo Reno 2Z, Oppo A91
LG
It looks a bit sad at LG when it comes to the Android 10 update. Already with Android 9 the distribution happened very slowly and the signs are not very good this year either. At the moment, only one device from its own range has been confirmed:
- LG G8 (beta available)
We do not know whether models from the V series will be added to this list.
Nokia
More bright spots is available from Nokia instead. One wants to equip the entire line-up with Android 10 once more. The first rollouts should take place this year, while the last smartphones should get the update in the second quarter of next year:
- Nokia 7.1 (2019, Q4)
- Nokia 8.1 (2019, Q4)
- Nokia 9 Pure View (2019, Q4)
- Nokia 6.1, Nokia 6.1 Plus (2020, Q1)
- Nokia 7 Plus (2020, Q1)
- Nokia 2.2 (2020, Q1)
- Nokia 3.1 (2020, Q2), Nokia 3.1 Plus (2020, Q1)
- Nokia 3.2 (2020, Q1)
- Nokia 4.2 (2020, Q1)
- Nokia 1 (2020, Q2), Nokia 1 Plus (2020, Q1)
- Nokia 5.1 (2020, Q2), Nokia 5.1 Plus (2020, Q1)
- Nokia 8 Sirocco (2020, Q1)
- Nokia 2.1 (2020, Q2)
Lenovo / Motorola
Last year only very few Motorola smartphones got the update to Android Pie. Some devices were only a year old. This year, Lenovo has not yet announced which smartphones will get the update to Android 10.
Essential
Essential does not have a particularly difficult time distributing the latest software, after all, the manufacturer only has one model on offer. Last year it was already possible to provide Android Pie at the same time as Google. Will that be repeated this year?
- Essential PH-1 (Beta available)
HTC
HTC was just struggling to distribute Android Pie. I think that Android 10 will also be a bit of a long time coming. HTC itself has not yet commented on this, should something change, we will add it here for you.
Sony
Sony currently has a lot of devices on offer, but the Android 10 commitment is only available for one thing:
- Xperia XZ3 (beta available)
As we know Sony, it will not have been. Presumably, the other devices are currently being prepared for the new version. We will probably also see a new device or several new devices at the IFA in Berlin, which will probably also come with Android 10.
Xiaomi
Xiaomi named devices very early on that will get the new Android in the coming months:
- Mi 9 (beta available), Mi 9 SE (2019, Q4)
- We 8, We 8 Pro, Mi 8 Explorer Edition (2019, Q4)
- Mi MIX 2S (2019, Q4)
- Mi MIX 3 (2019, Q4), Mi MIX 3 5G (beta available)
- Pocophone F1
Android 10: conclusion
This year, a lot of manufacturers want to offer Android 10 for their own smartphones. As already mentioned above, we will update this article if more manufacturers give an update promise.
