It felt like 2019 was just beginning and the first week of the third quarter is already over. That of course also means that there is another one today TechnikNews Weekly with the most clicked tech topics of the week.

ÖBB is fighting with DDos attacks

As the Austrian Federal Railways – ÖBB for short – reported on Twitter over the past few days, the “Scotty” timetable information and ticket system were affected by DDos attacks. This means that the servers are paralyzed with a large number of requests probe beer. The attackers were therefore unable to intercept user data. During the time of the disruption, the entire system only functioned to a limited extent. It now seems as if everything is going smoothly again.

Huawei Mate 30 with its own OS?

Even if the trade dispute between the USA and Huawei is off the table and the manufacturer has an Android license again, there is still talk of its own OS, which Huawei is probably working on. According to some rumors, this is called “HongMengOS” and is already being tested internally - on a Huawei Mate 30. Whether the smartphone will be launched with the operating system is currently still in the stars.

Surface Book 2 and Surface Headphones review

Editor-in-chief David Wurm had the opportunity to test a Surface Book 2. The 13,5-inch version with a Core i5-7300U and eight gigabytes of RAM was available to him. He concluded that the Surface Pro 6, which he has tested in the past, is a bit superfluous next to the Surface Book 2 and the book only brings advantages. He explains exactly what he means by that in his test report.

At the same time, I published my review of the Surface Headphones. These are the first on-ear headphones from Microsoft that offer ANC and crystal clear sound, as my test showed. Only I didn't like the companion app that much.

Samsung Galaxy Buds review

A third review appeared in the last seven days, and that is about Samsung's Galaxy Buds. These were presented in February with the Galaxy S10, the Galaxy S10e and the Galaxy S10 Plus and should be a direct competitor to the AirPods from Apple. In the closing remarks of the report, new editor Andreas wrote that the Buds are particularly advantageous for users of Samsung smartphones, as there are some additional features here. In addition, the sound is better than with the AirPods. They are also cheaper than these. More details can be found in the review.

Huawei Mate 20X 5G presented

After the above-mentioned trade dispute subsided, Huawei also presented its own smartphone: The Mate 20X 5G. In principle, the device does not differ from the Mate 20X without 5G, which was revealed a few months ago. So it also has a 7,21 inch display, a Kirin 980 and eight gigabytes of RAM. The smartphone is now available in Germany, and it could soon also appear in Austria.
