TechnikNews Weekly # 067: WWDC 2019, Xperia 1, Withings Body Cardio and more
Welcome back to the TechnikNews Weekly! We hope that you had a nice week, now that the weather is slowly but surely turning into midsummer. We were not idle this week either and brought some news. Here is a summary.

WWDC 2019
With the WWDC 2019 in San Jose, a major event was on the calendar this week. Alongside iOS 13 and watchOS 6, Apple unveiled iPadOS, an all-new Mac Pro and its own monitor. This bears the name Pro Display XDR and has a 6K resolution. There is now a dark mode for iOS 13 and the file management for iPadOS has been SIGNIFICANTLY revised. The first betas for the new software versions are already available for download. The first public beta will follow in July, followed by the final versions in autumn.

Unfortunately, there was also negative news about this year's WWDC. These relate to the monitor stand that is used for the Pro Display XDR required - it is not included in the monitor box. It charges a whopping $999, plus the price of the Pro Display, which is priced at $4999. As a result, several meme videos were published on Twitter and YouTube. These reactions did not suit Apple, the videos were partially taken from the network.
Xperia 1 available now
As part of MWC 2019, Sony showed the Xperia 1 with a 21: 9 display. This is based on OLED and has a 4K resolution, which makes it perfect for consuming media. Since this week you can buy the smartphone from Sony and Amazon for an RRP of 949 euros. With this you get a protective cover from Sony and a microSD card from Amazon.

Withings Body Cardio review
Something new TechnikNews: A review of a smart scale. More precisely: editor-in-chief David Wurm prorecently tried out the Withings Body Cardio and wrote down his experiences in his test report. In his conclusion, he says that the Body Cardio is currently the best smart scale on the market. According to our editor-in-chief, you get a great overall package for 120 euros. All further details on the technical data and the Withings app can be found review report.
Kingrow K1 with e-ink display
At the beginning of this week, I took a closer look at a somewhat unusual smartphone. This is called Kingrow K1 and can currently be found on the Indiegogo crowdfunding platform. The special feature of this device is the e-ink display on which the Android operating system can be seen. We already know such e-inks from gadgets like the Kindle from Amazon and the Tolino from Thalia. However, I believe that not very many will buy the smartphone because it is virtually impossible to consume media and games on the display.
UE Wonderboom 2 presented
Ultimate Ears, or UE for short, already had a Wonderboom model in its range. Apparently this was so well received that the manufacturer presented a successor - the UE Wonderboom 2. For the most part, it hardly differs from the original version. Only the case is a little larger, which has improved the sound quality and battery life.

Hi, the Xperia 1 sounds really good, is there a review yet?
Hello Ralf,
no, we currently don't have a test device. Let's see what happens here in the future.
