IFA 2018 starts next week in Berlin. The event, which has existed since 1924, attracts thousands of journalists and visitors from all over the world to Berlin every year. In this article on IFA harmony, we take a look at what could be new from manufacturers.
It's finally that time again: The press days for journalists start on August 29th, two days later for all interested private visitors. Acer: Does this year's IFA start with gaming?
Last year at the IFA 2017 has Acer with numerous new ones Proproducts from almost every tech category Product fireworks ignited. There were new gaming devices, 360 cameras, virtual reality and a bunch of laptops. The latter started with convertibles, notebooks and new tablets Proproducts shown. the Prozedur could definitely repeat itself at the IFA 2018 this year.
It's pretty likely that the already popular gaming series will be topped up again. Not only with computers and laptops, but also with plenty of accessories. A successor could also be shown in the area of Google Chromebooks. The lightweight ChromeOS operating system is perfect for surfing or reading emails. As a highlight, Acer had the Acer Predator Orion 9000 with an 18-core CPU and an all-in-one cooling system at the fair last year.

Asus: New innovations again this year?
Asus presents new ones every year at the IFA Proproducts as eye-catchers. The thinnest ultrabook was presented at the IFA 2017, together with the Zenbook Flip 14 with a thickness of 14mm. You can see: Acer likes innovations in the technology sector and will present creative new ideas again this year. Maybe even thinner notebooks or the thinnest gaming tablet?
Asus is now also represented in the VR division. For example, trendy VR glasses were presented at the fair last year. It remains to be seen whether we will see new innovations there this year. That would be pretty realistic after the now three-year-old one ZenWatch 3that one on the IFA 2016 had shown a new smartwatch from Asus. Whether the Asus ZenFone will prevail again this year, and the fourth successor will be presented, is not known. There haven't been any leaks yet.

HTC: Do you show a blockchain smartphone and the HTC U12 Life?
HTC announced a surprise for IFA yesterday on Twitter. So it could HTC U12 Life presented at IFA next week become. According to current rumors, this should be a mid-range smartphone with Android One. There is already a sketch for the device - we have embedded it in the article. But will HTC really only introduce a smartphone or is there something else to come?
Oh well. There were also rumors of an upcoming blockchain smartphone from HTC. With this one should be able to dive even deeper into the world of crypto currencies. Although I am still not convinced that we will see such a smartphone, we remain excited. Perhaps there will also be an innovation in the area of virtual reality from HTC. There may also be a more detailed timetable too Android 9.0 for HTC smartphones.

Huawei: Is the Huawei Mate 20 coming? Pro to the IFA?
We can say it in advance: unfortunately not. Last week, Huawei did that Mate 20 launch event Pro set for October. That's why it's pretty much impossible that it's a Mate 20 Pro will be seen. Nevertheless, the Chinese could pull something else out of the hat and introduce us to the new Kirin 980. So there could be a special keynote about artificial intelligence.
In addition, we could also see two new tablets from Huawei - the MediaPad M5 Lite and MediaPad T5. These have already been presented, but could be demonstrated in more detail at the IFA. As a surprise, we could possibly have the first Huawei smartphone equipped with Android 9.0 Pie see. the Beta test for the pie update has already started internally.

LG: New V-series smartphones?
As always, LG will most likely use the IFA to present new smartphones this year as well. Last year, for example, we were presented with the flagship LG V30So it could be a LG G2018 ThinQ at IFA 40. At LG, “ThinQ” stands for smartphones with artificial intelligence. True to this motto, new devices will be equipped with "ThinQ". As always, there will be some mid-range and low-end smartphones on display at the fair.
In addition, LG is also known for its televisions and household appliances. New televisions and other new household appliances are therefore quite likely.
We are present at the first device preview at the LG booth at the IFA and then report on the Samsung keynote, which follows very shortly afterwards. If there is not enough time, we will of course visit the LG stand again when the opportunity arises.

Samsung: is there anything else coming after the Note 9?
This year it doesn't sound so exciting at Samsung at the IFA. The Koreans already had that two weeks ago Galaxy Note 9, a Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Home Smart speakers presented. What can come now? It can be assumed that there will be new information about Bixby in Germany, since they have now also presented their first smart loudspeaker. However, we are no longer expecting a major highlight - Samsung has already presented the flagship devices.
If you look at the Samsung press site um, this year the IFA will be designed according to the motto “Do What You Can't”. If you read the description more closely, you could assume there are innovations in the smart home area. Perhaps Samsung is now taking the next step in home automation after the Bixby Speaker. An ecosystem like the one at Apple with “Home” would be quite conceivable here. New headphones that could be purchased as part of the IFA 2017 presented would have. Whether there is a fitness tracker like that in addition to the Galaxy Watch GearFit 2 Pro (also IFA 2017) remains to be seen.
In any case, there will be initial opportunities for hands-on with the Galaxy Note 9 or the Galaxy Watch. We will of course put everything important here in writing.

Sony: new Xperia smartphones at the fair?
The IFA has also been a good time for Sony to unveil new smartphones in recent years. Last year we got some new Xperia smartphones, like the flagship Sony Xperia XZ1 also presented an action cam and the first Sony speaker. In addition to these devices, as usual from Sony, there were numerous new headphones. This trend will be followed at IFA 2018 and the successor to the Sony Xperia XZ2 (MWC 2018) along with some cool ones Proproducts for the ears.
An update of the Sony speakers LF-S50G with the Google Assistant. In addition, Sony will again bring some new televisions and other audio equipment to the fair in Berlin.
